How to Add Insurance
- Request shipping quote from Pet Center
- Ask about premium insurance options
- Choose coverage level (Standard or Premium)
- Insurance fee added to shipping invoice
- Insurance is effective from pickup through delivery
Filing a Claim
Step 1: Document the Issue — Photograph pet condition, get vet report, save all receipts, document dates and times.
Step 2: Contact Pet Center — Email support@petcenterco.com with order number and incident details within 48 hours of issue.
Step 3: Submit Claim Package — Provide vet diagnosis, receipts, photos, and description of what occurred.
Step 4: Investigation — Pet Center and insurance provider review claim (3-5 business days).
Step 5: Decision & Payment — Receive decision and payment within 7-10 business days if approved.

Emergency During Transit
If your pet has an emergency during transport:
- Handler will immediately contact the nearest emergency vet
- You will be notified immediately by handler
- Vet will treat pet; handler pays upfront if necessary
- Insurance covers documented emergency vet costs
- Pet Center and insurance are contacted for reimbursement
Weather Delays & Coverage
Delays of 24-48 hours are common with ground transport. Premium insurance provides:
- Extended boarding costs at safe location
- Additional vet checks if needed
- Updated contact information for handler
- Rerouting if necessary
- Communication every 4-6 hours
Health Guarantee vs Insurance
Insurance covers: Emergency situations during transit (vet care, accidents, delays)
Health Guarantee covers: Pre-existing conditions found after delivery

Is insurance mandatory?
No, but it's strongly recommended. Standard coverage is included; premium is optional.
What if the handler is at fault?
Handler liability is covered. Damages are covered up to policy limits. Pet Center's insurance may pursue recovery from handler insurance if applicable.
Can I get insurance after booking?
Usually yes. Contact support@petcenterco.com to add insurance before pickup date.
Do I need insurance for local pickup?
No, insurance is for shipped pets only. Local pickup is not covered by transit insurance.
